Post Meat Establishment Control Monitoring was conducted by Meat, Livestock and Fish Inspection Division of the Davao City Veterinarian’s Office on May 29, 2024 at Agdao Public Market yielded to the confiscation of approximately 55.28 kilos of chicken cuts and whole dressed chicken and 7.42 kilos of chicken by-products with a total of 62.07 kilos in violation of RA 10536 (Meat Inspection Code of the Phil) and City Ordinance #0291-17 Series of 2017.
The said meat was disposed at Malagos’s condemn pit and blotter was lodged at Sta Ana Police station.
Furthermore, 9 areas in Agdao were also monitored.
Meanwhile, another confiscated 140 kilos of stale fish (pirit) last May 2, 2024 at Marfori, Bankerohan and was disposed at Malagos condemn pit and on May 9, 2024, the Fish Inspection team conducted a monitoring and confiscation at Bankerohan Public Market, Pag-asa & Marfori Private Fish Markets which resulted to the confiscation of 60 kilos of assorted illegally caught fish and donated to Sidlakan, Bahay Pag-asa and Lingap Center for Mentally Challenged.
Condemned 49.4 kilos of fish, unfit for human consumption (stale) and was disposed to condemnation pit at Malagos City Pound Compound.
Fish Vendors selling Boneless Bangus were also reprimanded that they should cover the displayed boneless bangus with transparent cellophane, to avoid exposure to flies and other contaminants.
