Meat, Livestock and Fish Inspection Division of Davao City Veterinarian’s Office conducted a post meat establishment control monitoring last on January 28 and Feb 9, 2024 which yield to the confiscation of 238.2 kilos of assorted pork meat and lechon and 319.1 kilos of assorted pork meat, lechon and native chicken, respectively, at Libby road, Talomo, Sta Ana, Sasa, Buhangin, and Cabantian. Police blotter was lodged. All confiscated meat were disposed at Brgy. Malagos’s condemn pit, City Pound Compound. This is in violation of RA 10536 (Meat Inspection Code of the Phil) and City Ordinance 158-05 series of 2005, as amended.

Meanwhile on Feb 7, 2024, Fish Inspectors confiscated an illegally caught 4.8 kilos of fish and condemned 18.6 kilos of stale fish at Bankerohan Public Market. Unfit for human consumption and disposed in accordance with the existing laws.
