A Post Meat Establishment Control and Monitoring of City Veterinarian’s Office were conducted along Chavez St. and Sta.Ana of Davao City. The Davao City Veterinarian’s Meat Enforcement team confiscated approximately 66.5 kilos of pork (41.5 kilos of pork lechon and 25 pork carcass) in violation of RA 10536 (Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines) and City Ordinance 158-05 as amended.

The said confiscated meats were condemned and disposed accordingly in Malagos. A blotter was lodged at Sta Ana Police station. Moreover, final warnings were issued to five (5) meat vendors in Piapi market and given Information Education Campaign (IEC) materials .

Meanwhile, on August 31, 2023, approximately a total of 38.4 kilos of assorted fish (5.7 stale fish and 32.7 were illegally caught) were confiscated at Marfori private market by City Vet’s fish inspectors in violation of RA 8550 (Fisheries Code of 1998).


The stale fish were condemned and the illegally caught fish, were donated to charitable institution.
