September 28 marks World Rabies Day. This is a global health Observance that started in 2007, to raise awareness about the public health impact of human and animal rabies. World Rabies Day is an opportunity to reflect on our efforts to control the deadly disease and remind ourselves that the fight is not yet over.

In line with this, the office of the City Veterinarian Celebrated this occasion at Brgy. Centro, Agdao and Toril, Davao City. Activities with regards to intensified rabies control program was conducted. These include anti-rabies vaccination, information education communication (IEC), vitamin supplementation, deworming and castration of dogs and cats. The activities were spearheaded by the Animal Husbandry and Disease Control Division. Personnel from the Research and Laboratory Division together with the Department Head Dr. Cerelyn B. Pinili and the assistant Department Head, Dr. Esther Cherrie G. Rayos, were present to participate in the activities
