Fish and Fishery Products Inspection, activities, and accomplishments in the year 2022, inspected 10,904,531 kilos of Fish and Fishery Products, and a total of 10,904, 051 kilos passed the inspection. 15 monitoring activities on illegally caught fish and Off-Grade fish were conducted, 149 kilos of Off-Grade fish were condemned, and 375 kilos of illegally caught fish were confiscated. All illegally caught fish confiscated were donated to different charitable institutions managed by CSSDO/CSWDO of Davao City.
For Red Tide Laboratory activity and as a part of the Red Tide monitoring, a total of 877 Laboratory tests (Mouse Bio-assay examination) were conducted on all “Tahong” or Green mussels that arrived at Davao City and all 877 Laboratory tests were negative to Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning and safe for human consumption.314,260 kilos of “Tahong” were inspected and a total of 314,230 kilos passed the inspection, 30.1 kilos of “Tahong” were condemned due to mishandling.
One fish bagsakan establishment, the Pag-Asa/Marfori Private Fish Market and 5 Public Markets (Bankerohan, Agdao, Toril, Mintal, Calinan) were monitored.
Two sessions of The Fish Handling and Food Safety Orientation Seminar were conducted and attended by 39 participants.
